Made-to-measure aluminium roof lanterns
Slimline Sheerline S1 roof lanterns for extensions, orangeries and replacement conservatory roofs.
A roof lantern designed around your opening
Every project is different. We quote roof lanterns to suit the required external kerb dimensions rather than forcing a standard size onto the roof. This makes the system suitable for new extensions and carefully measured replacement installations.
Contemporary aluminium sightlines
The Sheerline S1 system combines a low-line external appearance with insulated aluminium sections. Its clean ridge, hips and rafter cappings suit both modern extensions and traditional homes.
What we need to quote
Send the external kerb width and length, the required colour inside and outside, your delivery postcode and whether the project is supply only or requires a local survey. Photographs are especially helpful for replacement lanterns.

Confirmed roof lantern specifications
Specifications are taken from current Sheerline literature and remain subject to the selected design, glass, site conditions and manufacturer confirmation.

ROOF LANTERN VENTILATION
Let warm air escape at roof level
A powered flush roof vent can be incorporated into suitable Sheerline S1 lanterns. It follows the slim lines of the rafter bars and provides controllable high-level ventilation for kitchens and glazed living spaces.
Specify ventilation before manufacture so the position, glass layout, controls and electrical supply can be planned correctly.

Frequently asked questions
How large can a Sheerline S1 roof lantern be?
Current Sheerline literature states that the S1 is available in 13 styles and can span up to 3.2 metres by 6 metres without tie bars, subject to the chosen configuration, glass, site exposure and engineering requirements.
What pitch is a Sheerline roof lantern?
The Sheerline S1 lantern uses a 25-degree pitch. The dimensions supplied for quotation should be the required external kerb dimensions, not an estimated glass or visible frame size.
Can a roof lantern use different colours inside and outside?
Dual-colour combinations are available for selected finishes. This can provide a dark exterior to coordinate with windows and doors while keeping a lighter internal finish.
Does a roof lantern need planning permission?
Many domestic roof alterations may be permitted development, but this depends on the property, location, height and wider building work. The homeowner or project professional should confirm planning and Building Regulations requirements before ordering.
